Event Recap: 17th Annual College and Career Expo


High school students from all over Central Texas gathered together early in the morning on October 10th at the Skillpoint Alliance’s 17th annual College and Career Expo. 3000 students came to receive information and guidance for choosing their post-secondary education and future career path. The Greater Austin Chamber of Commerce and Skillpoint Alliance hosted the 17th Annual College & Career Expo, presented by Samsung Austin Semiconductor, CCE included comprehensive information on college readiness, financial aid, and vocational training opportunities.

Teachers looked on while students explored different zones of the fair, which covered opportunities in fields like High Tech, Government, Legal, Non-Profit, Medical, Hospitality, and Financial Services. The expo featured several interactive displays, including advanced gaming technologies at the Microsoft and AMD booths and walk-throughs of first responder vehicles from the Austin area.

Students left with a great deal of confidence in their future and in themselves:
