Machine Operator



The Machine Operator course is six weeks, and qualifies graduates to work in the regional Manufacturing industry. Participants learn how to improve job planning, operate CNC (Computer Numerical Control) equipment, set-up and operate manual equipment, and are immersed in the culture and environment of the manufacturing industry. This program empowers individuals in underserved populations to gain credentials with the highly recognized National Institute for Metalworking Skills (NIMS). Participants earn certifications for:

  • OSHA 10
  • First Aide/CPR
  • Forklift operation
  • NIMS Mill and Lathe Safety & Measurement Certification

Upon completion, participants are prepared to enter the machining industry as entry level Manual Machinists or CNC Machine operators. Past Machine Operator graduates have gained employment with Athena Manufacturing, Axis Tools, and Hag Bros.
