At our Human Capital Honors Luncheon on September 16th, Skillpoint Alliance presented Applied Materials with the Responding to Industry Award. This award is given to one of Skillpoint’s industry partners that has worked directly with Skillpoint to provide opportunities for our participants to succeed.

Applied Materials has continuously worked to support strategic education efforts focused on student academic achievement in STEM education and professional development resources for  teachers.  “Applied Materials has always believed in the power of ideas to improve the way people live, and we remain committed to developing the next generation of innovators,” said Michelle Walker Moak, Program Manager for Global Community Affairs at Applied Materials. “By providing our young people with opportunities to explore new ideas and experiences, Applied Materials is closing the achievement gap in targeted regions in the U.S.”

Their Applied Materials Education Initiative works towards increasing the number of students who graduate from high school prepared to succeed in college. The collaborative partnership between Applied Materials and Skillpoint Alliance “has been vital to improving the community,” because both groups are so focused on increasing education and job readiness in Central Texas.

Applied Materials continues to be one of Skillpoint Alliance’s most valued collaborators, and we are thrilled to honor them with the Responding to Industry Award.
