Happy Administrative Professionals Day from Gateway Coordinator Bethany Paul!

Greetings! My name is Bethany Paul, and I am the newest member of the Gateway team at Skillpoint Alliance.  I am so excited to be here! A little bit about me: being born in Chicago and having grown up outside of Philadelphia, it’s in my blood to love food.  Austin has been a great move for me, as I’m sure I could eat at a new place once a week forever.  And I’m not picky – food trucks, sushi, a fancy steak…it’s all good!  Outside of food, my other love is my 2-year-old English Bulldog Continue Reading >

Part of what we do here at Skillpoint is getting the innovators and designers of the future excited about pursuing careers in these fields.  As the new Green Tech Program Coordinator, I have been helping to coordinate our various High School Continue Reading >

Thank you Klein Tools!

Happy weekend!  Good news for our Gateway trainees today: Klein Tools is donating $7,600 worth of high-quality toolkits to our graduating Gateway Construction trainees.   Thanks to this donation, the Gateway program is able to cut out a significant expense of the Construction trainings. We want our graduates to be as prepared as possible for their first day on the job, so purchasing toolkits is a must. However, even the most basic toolkit costs around $35 per person. This Klein Tools Continue Reading >

Key Findings from the Workforce Potential Project Labor Market Analysis

We read the Workforce Potential Project Labor Market Analysis, recently released by the Austin Area Research Organization and the Ray Marshall Center and just knew we had to share. The statistics are out there about how well-educated our community is, but this does not always translate to a well-developed workforce. Austin has jobs and Austin has the Continue Reading >
