Aaron Hill

Program Manager

Aaron is responsible for the successful development and delivery of all Skillpoint programming, including budget management, grant compliance, and supervision of program staff.  Prior to joining Skillpoint Alliance, Aaron worked in higher education administration as a university residence life practitioner.  In this context, he supported the learning and development of thousands of college students through the creation of high-impact learning experiences.  Aaron also served as a training team leader in New York State, providing training to public assistance administrators on topics including employment services policy, mental health awareness, and effective staff supervision.  Originally from the Midwest, Aaron holds a B.A. in International Political Economy from Carthage College and an M.S. in College Student Personnel from Western Illinois University.  Outside of work, Aaron can be found riding his bicycle around Austin or at home playing video games.

    Amy Corbett

    Finance Director

    Amy is responsible for providing oversight of the Finance Department.  Her duties include managing the operating budget, financial projections, contractual requirements and the accurate reporting of all financial activities. Prior to joining Skillpoint Alliance, Amy worked in the audit practice of a Big 4 public accounting firm.  Her clients represented a variety of industries and practices.  Recently, Amy provided accounting consulting services to various Austin nonprofits and businesses.  This work sparked her interest in the non-profit sector.  Originally from California, Amy graduated from Pepperdine University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting.  She enjoys spending time with her family and two Cocker Spaniels.  Her hobbies include tennis, reading, music and volunteering with her children.

      Dawn Broadwater

      Waco Program Coordinator

      As the Waco Program Coordinator, Dawn is responsible for coordinating and carrying out the activities for programming in the Waco region including: classroom management, participant coordination and data management. Prior to joining Skillpoint, Dawn worked at Mission Waco as a Program Coordinator/Job Trainer/Job Developer for Waco Homeless population. She has previously worked as a Staff Respiratory Therapist, Respiratory Therapy Department Manager and Clinical Evaluator for Promise Hospital of Phoenix, Phoenix, Arizona and Clinical and Didactic Instructor for Respiratory Therapy Program at Apollo College in Phoenix, Arizona. Dawn completed a Respiratory Therapist Program at Mount San Antonio College in Walnut, California and then went on to complete Bachelors Degree Program in Organizational Leadership from Biola University, La Mirada, California. 

        Ernesto Resto

        Digital Inclusion Fellow

        Ernesto is currently serving as the NTEN Google Fellow for Skillpoint Alliance and is responsible for amplifying the impact of the Empower Computer Program and advocating for digital inclusion in Central Texas. Originally from Puerto Rico, Ernesto ended up in Austin, TX unemployed. Thanks to the support of Housing Authority of the City of Austin (HACA) public housing he found success in his personal and professional life. Ernesto was awarded the 2016 Resident of the Year, presented by the Texas Chapter of the National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials. In his spare time, Ernesto enjoys studying computer technology independently, fixing computers, and playing video games with his son.

          Kelly Fitzgerald

          Finance Assistant

          Kelly specializes in Accounting and Finance at Skillpoint Alliance.  Prior to joining Skillpoint, Kelly held various accounting positions specializing in construction in and around the Austin area. Originally from Houston, Kelly grew up in Vancouver Canada and moved back to Texas after she finished school.  Outside of work Kelly enjoys traveling, music and spending time with family and friends.

            Kevin Brackmeyer

            Executive Director

            Born and raised in Harlingen, Texas, Kevin Brackmeyer attended Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas where he received a bachelor’s degree in psychology before returning to his hometown to begin working as a program supervisor for Tropical Texas MHMR, providing job skills training to adults with cognitive disabilities and assisting with placement into the workforce.

              Mallory Herridge

              Waco Program Director

              Mallory is responsible for program and business development, staff management and fundraising in Waco. Prior to joining Skillpoint Alliance, Mallory worked with the Baylor Texas Hunger Initiative utilizing her experiences in social work, community organizing, community building, and program development to further public-private partnerships in an effort to reduce hunger in Texas.   Mallory also served as a Program Manager through Communities In Schools (CIS) in under resourced, rural public schools creating unique partnerships and collaborations for healthier schools and communities.  Mallory earned a Bachelor’s degree as well as Master of Social Work (2008) and Master of Divinity (2010) degrees at Baylor University.  Originally from Kenedy, TX, Mallory has lived in the Waco area since 2002, serving the needs of the Waco community through various jobs, internships and volunteer opportunities.  In addition to enjoying her beloved community of Waco, Mallory also enjoys being a new mom, discovering the beauty of small towns, listening to live music and attending her husband’s Magic shows.

                Natalie Mazzie

                Programs Recruitment Coordinator

                Natalie is specializes in participant recruitment for the Gateway program at Skillpoint. Prior to working at Skillpoint Alliance as a Programs Recruitment Coordinator, Natalie attended the University of Texas – Austin and completed a degree in Spanish Linguistics. Natalie has been a Volunteer Instructor at Manos de Cristo for the past year and a half;  and has aided rolling out a new instructional program called Leamos, in which her students learn to use a computer to facilitate the acquisition of their own language. During her time with Manos de Cristo, Natalie’s passion for the non-profit industry has grown and she hopes to make a difference one person at a time. In addition to volunteering, Natalie loves spending her free time, crafting, going to musicals and heavy metal concerts.

                  Sara Silva

                  Velocity Program Lead

                  Sara specializes in sparking students’ interest in STEM-related fields by connecting them with industry and community via relevant, hands-on work experience through the Velocity program. At Skillpoint Alliance, Sara oversees the delivery of the Velocity program; connects with schools and industry partners; and trains and manages Velocity facilitators to ensure quality of the program. Prior to joining Skillpoint Alliance, Sara spent 20 years in industry as a network engineer at IBM Corporation in New York, and Lucent Technologies in New Jersey, and spent the last seven years in Ghana, West Africa as an IT manager and trainer for Blue Sea. Originally from Cape Verde Islands, Sara graduated from Syracuse University with a Masters in Computer Engineering. In her spare time she enjoys family outings, movies, reading and yoga.

                    Sarah Gebhardt

                    Data and Media Specialist

                    Sarah is responsible for program data management as well as creating media for the Gateway Program. During her time with Skillpoint, Sarah has taught NEXT professional development classes, developed summer camp curriculum and developed organizational-wide processes to ensure programs are in compliance with grants and contracts. Prior to joining the team, Sarah served as a State & National AmeriCorps member through 4-H Capital where she developed thematic project-based STEM curriculum for Title I Schools in AISD and DVISD. During her time at 4-H, Sarah became interested in video production and blogging, and has created popular content surrounding AmeriCorps FAQs. Originally from Cleveland, Ohio; Sarah is working to obtain her Bachelors from Texas State University in History and Communications. Sarah loves Disney and is a Hip Hop blogger for the The Lunch Table Talks, an LA-based popular website.

                      Sean Chitty

                      IT Manager

                      Sean specializes in networking, IT Support, and technical research at Skillpoint Alliance. At Skillpoint Alliance, he is responsible for the day-to-day management of computers and servers used by Skillpoint Alliance’s employees and participants as well as assisting program directors with technical matters. Originally from Houston, TX, Sean is a graduate of Grinnell College where he received a Bachelor’s in Computer Science.  In his spare time, Sean can be found playing video games, painting miniatures, or wrestling his dogs.

                        Steven Harris

                        Programs Retention Coordinator

                        At Skillpoint Alliance, Steven is responsible for class participant retention, program delivery, classroom management, and helping students develop long term self- sufficiency of the Gateway Rapid Training Workforce Program. Steven started as a Program Coordinator for our Gateway Construction Program in 2014, and then become Workforce Classroom Coordinator for Gateway & Velocity Programs in 2015, and is now the Programs Retention Coordinator for the Gateway Program. Prior to joining Skillpoint Alliance, Steven was a Psychiatric Nurse Assistant III at Austin State Hospital, where he was responsible for assisting the Charge Nurses, and also supervised staff as well as taking care of acute mentally-ill people admitted to Austin State Hospital. He is originally from Austin, Texas. Steven graduated from Prairie View A&M University, where he obtained a bachelor’s degree in Social Work. Outside of work, he enjoys traveling, attending sporting events, and cooking great food.

                          Tyler Adkins

                          Contract Specialist

                          Tyler is responsible for monitoring Skillpoint grants and contracts to ensure compliance with conditions of agreements and accurate reporting of project deliverables. Prior to joining Skillpoint, Tyler worked as an attorney and entrepreneur in New York City. Originally from North Carolina, Tyler attended The University of North Carolina at Greensboro, receiving a B.A. in Communication, and holds a J.D. from The University of Akron School of Law. Outside of the office, Tyler enjoys running, baking cookies, and filling his head with pop culture trivia.

                           

                           

                            William Bass

                            Programs Employment Coordinator

                            William Bass specializes in fostering industry partnerships and ensuring the success of the Gateway Program participants. At Skillpoint, William is focused on bridging the gap between the employment needs of the Gateway Program participants and the industries that Skillpoint serves. Prior to joining Skillpoint, William worked with the non-profit sector to ensure the successful collection, analysis, and reporting of program data. Originally from Houston, William graduated from the University of Texas with a degree in Philosophy. In his spare time, William can be found thrashing around his drum kit, rollerskating backwards, or reading poetry.
