HVAC Technician Course Overview
Skillpoint’s five-week program provides both basic construction training and Level One HVAC Tech training. After completing Construction Fundamentals (such as construction math, tool safety, and job site safety), the course then moves into curriculum specific to the HVAC (Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning) trade and covers building codes, pipe fittings, diagnosing malfunctions, and air duct systems. It includes hands-on experience and instruction about aspects of HVAC systems for commercial, industrial and residential buildings. At the end of the program, participants sit for their Environmental Protection Agency 608 Universal exam. Participants obtain their OSHA 10 certification during the program and applicants apply for their HVAC Registered ACR Technician License from the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR).
