South Central Texas (New Braunfels & San Antonio)

Texas continues to see strong demand for skilled workers in manufacturing and the electrical trades. In New Braunfels, Skillpoint Alliance offers no-cost training designed to prepare participants for entry-level careers in both industries.

Manufacturing Technician Training prepares participants for opportunities in production, assembly, CNC, and other manufacturing environments.

Pre-Apprentice Electrical Training builds foundational skills for careers in residential and commercial electrical work and apprenticeship pathways.

Starting wages vary by employer, position, shift, experience, and credentials, with opportunities for advancement and continued training.

Manufacturing Technician Program 

This training course prepares graduates for entry-level Technician positions in the Manufacturing industry. Job titles vary by employer, but include Manufacturing Technician, Process Technician, Equipment Technician, Fab Associate, Machine Operator, and/or Assembler. Students learn about manufacturing safety, quality practices & measurement, manufacturing processes & production, and maintenance awareness. The course includes hands-on skills work with a CNC mill, soldering station, 3-D printer,  and much more. Graduates can expect to begin work with leading manufacturers across the South Central Texas region, including opportunities in Buda, San Marcos, New Braunfels, Seguin, Schertz, Selma, Cibolo, and San Antonio with companies such as Aumovio (formerly Continental), CFAN, Detex, and many more growing manufacturing employers in the area.

Pre-Apprentice Electrical

This training course prepares participants for work as entry-level Electrical Apprentices. Students will begin by learning about electrical safety, hand tools, and power tools (specific to the industry). The course then covers the difference between residential and commercial employment job functions. Students learn how to wire device boxes, bend conduit, and assemble raceways. Visits from local employers, union representatives, and open shop representatives are included for exposure to different career opportunities within the industry. Participants obtain the OSHA 10 certification during their program, and assistance is provided to obtain the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) Electrical Apprentice License.
