AUSTIN, TX — Skillpoint Alliance, a Central Texas 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that provides fast-paced, no-cost job training in the skilled trades to lower-income, underserved and under-accessed populations, is offering a Certified Production Technician course in San Marcos. The class will begin on July 31, and will be held at the Workforce Solutions of Hays County office located at 4794 Transportation Way, Building 5, Suite 500, San Marcos, TX 78666.
Justice-impacted individuals are encouraged to apply. Once successfully enrolled in the CPT program, justice-impacted students are eligible to receive a $400 weekly stipend for the 6-week course, made possible by a grant through Indeed.

Participants in Skillpoint Alliance programs often return to the workforce after time away, having experienced a previous hardship, or are looking to learn foundational skills that will set them on a new pathway to employment in a short amount of time.
Applicants who successfully enroll in the program will learn about manufacturing safety, quality practices & measurement, manufacturing processes & production, and maintenance awareness. The course includes working with a computer numerical control mill machine, soldering station, 3D printer, virtual reality headsets, the Skill Boss and much more. Students will receive their OSHA-10 safety certification and Lean Six Sigma White Belt certification.
Upon graduation, students may find employment as a manufacturing technician, process technician, equipment technician, fab associate, machine operator and/or assembler. Some of the local manufacturing companies that have employed our students include: Applied Materials, Global Resale, SISU, NXP, Athena Manufacturing, Samsung Austin Semiconductor, Tesla and many more.
